Many business owners are always looking for topics to blog about. Many coaches get the blogging software, start a blog, and stop after about 8 postings. One business coach said that even though he always has something to say to his audiences, he doesn't have as much to say when it comes to posting on his own coaching blog. "I don't have enough things happen in my business to post 2-3 messages a week" - he said.
But, as you know, it is important to post to your coaching blog on a regular basis. Readers of your blog expect to see new posts on your blog, and if you don't post for a while, they will be disappointed, and may even stop reading your blog altogether. Search engines love fresh content, so the more content you post, the more content you can get into search engines.
Remember, not every post on your blog has to be about your business. It should be of interest to your target readers, and it should be business-related. Let's look at a few topics that you can post about on your blog:
Not everything you post about has to be news. Did you get a great testimonial from a client? Did you discover a new way of getting better results that you can share with your clients? Did you write a new article? Share the information with your blog readers.
Your blog readers are typically interested in what is going on in your industry as a whole. As you learn about industry news, share some with your blog readers. Doing this will help your blog become the hub where your readers learn about industry-wide news.
Did your colleague write a new book? Is your business partner giving a speech at a well-known conference? Share the information with your blog readers – it will expose them to other professionals you trust, and you will help your colleagues create additional buzz for their products.
Share a great book or ebook recommendation with your readers. If you know of a great resource, don't keep it a secret, share it with your readers!
Did you see an interesting commercial on TV or attend a thought-provoking teleseminar? Even if the original commercial or teleseminar weren't related to your blog's topic, if you can tie in what you learned to business, you can still post about it.
For example, after watching an episode of a popular sitcom, I wrote a post on how Hollywood uses passive income streams concept to make money.
Keep posting on your blog - the more useful content you share with your readers, the more likely they are to come to you when they need your products or services.
