Feeling Of Accomplishment

Friday, September 8th, 2006

Do you have a feeling of accomplishment at the end of the day? Business owners tell me that sometimes they spend a whole day working on something, but at the end of the day they don’t feel that they got anything accomplished. What happened?

As business owners, we have lots of things we need to do everyday. We do our marketing, networking, business development, sales and we work with our clients. Plus, we also need to keep up with new technologies, learn more about marketing, promotion, advertising – you name it! We got lots of things on our plates.

What I recommend to my clients is that for every week, you schedule activities from a few of these groups. You should networking, market, do business development and work with your clients EVERY WEEK. That way, you will know that you have accomplished something, both in the long run (prospecting, education, etc) and for a shorter period of time – follow-up with warm leads, client work, business development.

Those of you who are members of https://www.MarketingSalad.com I am going to start a thread on this topic and share more tips on scheduling. And if you are not a member yet, join us at https://www.MarketingSalad.com for online business help, tips and support.

How To Find Blogging Topics

Thursday, September 7th, 2006

What do you blog about? How do you find topics to discuss on your blog? For me, the topics to write about are pretty much everywhere – an article I read, tips I want to share, an interesting post I read on another blog, etc.

A tip that I have for you is that you can (and should!) recycle everything you write. I post on a few different mailing lists and when I post information/ideas that I think would be of
interest to my blog readers, I post the message to the blog as well. This way, I use the message for the list and blog. And, if I make it longer, it will become an article.

Here is an article I wrote a while ago on finding topics to blog about:Finding Business Blogging Topics For Business Blogs.

Back To Business

Tuesday, September 5th, 2006

Hi, everyone

I’ve had a fun summer – we went on a few trips and I took some time off to enjoy the weather. But while I am taking the time off, my business is still working for me – this is the beauty of setting up an online system, that works for you while you are on vacation. It is great to login to your e-mail to see all the orders and inquiries that came while I was taking time off.

I also spent some time this summer working, and I will be launching a new product in the next few weeks. This product is something that many, many solopreneurs have asked me for, and I haven’t seen a similar product anywhere. If you’d like to hear more about it once it launches, make sure to subscribe to my newsletter at
https://www.avocadoconsulting.com/free_newsletter.html

I have spent a lot of time in the beginning building a solid business foundation and creating an online marketing system for my business. This system is paying off – I can take time off, and my clients can still purchase my products and use lots of other resources I provide, without my direct involvement. And I can earn money without being involved in every single business operation.

I am looking forward to the 4th Quarter and expecting great results from it!

How about you – how was your summer? What are you looking for in the 4th quarter?

FREE Technique To Get More Web Site Traffic

Monday, September 4th, 2006

In the last month alone, I had at least 20 people ask me for a proven and cost-effective way to drive traffic to their web site. Is free cost-effective enough? :) Search Engine Optimization is a free online marketing technique, that helps you drive more traffic to your web site and increase your revenues.

Did you know that over 70% of web surfers research and buy products by searching for them in search engines? This means that as you are reading this text, your target customers are using search engines to look for products and services to buy. Do you want your target customers to find YOUR web site, and buy from YOU, or find your competitors’ web sites and buy from them?

Since so many people are using search engines to locate products and services, it is extremely important to be able to direct that traffic to your web site. You can do that by using a process, called search engine optimization.

What is Search engine optimization? Search engine optimization (or SEO) is the process of modifying web page content and meta-information to improve the search engine ranking of the page. Meta-information includes certain HTML tags (title, heading, emphasized text, keyword and description meta-tags), as well as the internal (links between pages on the same site) and external (links between pages on different sites) link structure of a web site.

The search engine optimization process is described, in very simple terms, in the FREE Step by Step Search Engine Optimization Tutorial.

How To Increase Web Site Traffic

Saturday, September 2nd, 2006

Many online business owners ask me how to increase their web site traffic. As a business owner, you should remember that increasing your web site traffic is not important, what IS important, is increasing targeted web site traffic. Targeted traffic are people interested in your products and services. For example, if you sell high end jewelry, your targeted traffic will be women looking for diamond earrings or men looking for engagement rings.

Getting a lof of consistent, targeted traffic should be every online business owner’s goal. Targeted traffic is interested in your products and services before it even comes to your web site.

Here information about a few sources different of targeted traffic and tips on getting more of it to your web site:

– Source of targeted traffic: Search Engines. If your web site is properly optimized for search engines, you can get a lot of targeted, useful traffic.

How to increase it: By doing search engine optimization. Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of modifying web site and outside elements in order to bring more search engine traffic. You can learn more about search engine optimization for your web site in the Search Engine Optimization Special Report.

– Source of targeted traffic: Pay Per Clik Search Engines. You can bring targeted traffic to your web site by bidding on proper keywords with pay per click search engines. As you pay for every click, be careful about the keywords you bid on, and the daily budget for your campaigns.

How to increase it: By finding the optimal combination of keywords that you need and setting an optimal daily budget. Monitor and experiment with your pay per click campaigns – trying different things will help you find the most profitable keywords.

– Source of targeted traffic: Posting Articles Online. Write articles on topics related to your business, and your articles will be read by your potential customers.

How to increase it: Leverage your articles – post it on different article banks and encourage others to reprint them. Doing this will help you get in front of many people you would have never reached otherwise.

You will also be using leverage – by writing an article once, you will be able to use it many times to get exposure for your business.

So how can YOUR web site get more targeted visitors? Over to you – let’s take action:

– Take a look at your web site statistics. Learn where your targeted web site visitors are already coming from – are they coming from search engines? Link exchanges? Article banks? Your blog? The Understanding Web Site Statistics Special Report will help you navigate your web site statistics and understand how to use it to get the information you need for marketing your web site better.

– Based on the statistics, pick one source of targeted traffic to work on. It could be a source from which you are already receiving traffic, and would like to get more traffic from. Or, it could be a completely new source, from which you are not receiving any traffic, but would like to start.

– Learn as much as you can about the traffic source you pick. And than start working on getting targeted traffic. When you concentrate on one source, your efforts are fairly focused, and you will be able to get more targeted traffic to your web site.

By building up targeted traffic, you will be able to get more customers and improve your bottom line.

Is Coaching Shifting to Multiple Streams of Income?

Wednesday, August 30th, 2006

There is definitely a shift from just one-on-one coaching to one-on-one coaching + products approach. This is the approach I use and the approach I teach to my own clients, many of who are coaches.

Here are a few reasons why:

– There is a finite number of hours in a week, and this number of hours limits the number of one-on-one clients I can take on. And remember, working with someone one-on-one is not just the coaching time. I also spend the time to prepare for every session. I also provide unlimited e-mail support in-between sessions. All of this takes time.

– I want to help as many people as possible, and that is just not possible if I were to offer one-on-one coaching only. Again, there are just so many hours I can spend working, which limits the number of people I can work with.

– Not all of my clients can afford the one-on-one rates, but many more can afford my teleseminars, e-books and group online business coaching program. Therefore by offering the products, I am helping more people and am able to bring in more revenue.

– Reaching more people really helps me in the long run. My one-on-one clients refer people who buy my products, and someone who bought my e-book a while ago referred a potential coaching client.

– My products help me create marketing opportunities with others – through joint teleseminars, my affiliate program, and lots of other cooperative marketing opportunities and events. I would not be able to do lots of these things (and bring in revenue!) if I only had my one-on-one coaching to offer.

I enjoy one-on-one work I do, and I love to see my clients succeed. But having products helps me have more flexible hours, not work as much, and help many more people.
