Do You Need A Coach?
Wednesday, August 1st, 2007How do you know you need a coach? What do you do to find a coach that can help YOU?
Many people have asked me these questions. And if you want to achieve something, and need help to do it faster, to do it the right way, or just to do it, you need a coach.
I recommend that you define exactly what you are looking to achieve by working with a
coach – what are your goals and what do you need?
Once you know what you are looking for, start looking. This is where it will be helpful to know what you are looking for. Different coaches specialize in different things. There are coaches who work in a more general field – helping you set/achieve goals, for example. There are others who work with very specific people on very specific goals. For example, as an online marketing coach, I work specifically with service business owners on helping them get more clients using online marketing.
Therefore, the more specific you are about what you need, the more specialized coach you want to work with. For example, there might be people who specialize in working with clients from a particular industry. There might be people who work to help you land a
promotion. There might be people who help you make your business successful, etc.
To find a person you want to work with, ask people you know for recommendations. You
can contact me with your request. I know many coaches and may be able to recommend someone.
I also recommend to speak with a few different professionals to see if you there is a fit.
Some coaches offer a free “get acquainted” session to discuss your goals and see if
there is a good fit. This is a good place to discuss the goals you want to achieve, how fast/slow you want the pace to be, etc.
