Article Submission Web Sites

Wednesday, May 24th, 2006

Do you have your favorite article submissions web sites, the ones that get you results? A few that I like are ezinearticles.com, goarticles.com and International Practice Articles.
However, you should remember that different articles on different topics can produce different reponse rates. For example, some of my articles are re-printed more and used more on other web sites then others.

Your best bet is to track performance for different articles across different directories, and see which ones perform better.

And don’t forget to use other online marketing techniques – business blogging, newsletter publishing, search engine optimization – to supplement article promotion.

List Or Product First?

Wednesday, May 24th, 2006

What should you do first – create a large newsletter list OR create a product that you can promote (ebook, report, etc)?

Why not do both? List building should be done every day – through your blog, articles, other marketing efforts.

But even if you complete a product, and your list is still small, you can lots of other things with your product:

– You can still sell it to your list
– You can start getting affiliates to promote it with you
– You can use parts of your product to create teleseminars, recordings and other products.

The Best Time To Hold Teleclasses

Monday, May 22nd, 2006

What is the best time to hold teleclasses (teleseminars)?

The answer to this question really depends on your target market. If the people in your target market are able to attend your teleseminars during the day, then 2pm or 3pm or 4pm Eastern are probably acceptable times. I hold my regular teleseminars at 2pm or 3pm Eastern.

If people who are going to attend have full time jobs, it would be easier for them to attend if you did a teleseminar in the evening (after 7pm).

Same is true when I am invited to present a teleseminar for other people. When a majority of the people expected are self-employed, we do a seminar in the afternoon. When I did one for a group of new business owners, but a majority of whom was still working for corporations, we did an evening seminar.

Three Ways To Get More Newsletter Subscribers

Monday, May 22nd, 2006

When you create a product, you want to let as many people as possible know about it. After all, the more people know about your products, the more of them will be able to buy it, and the more money you will make. The best way to achieve that is byy having your own opt-in mailing list.

If you already have an opt-in list, here is how to drive more mailing list subscribers:

– Write articles and submit them to online article directories. Make sure that your resource box invites the readers to subscribe to your newsletter / offers a gift to subscribe.

– Use search engine optimization to optimize your web site and drive new newsletter subscribers.

– Blog and feature your newsletter subscribe box prominently on your blog.

Quality Versus Quantity in Online Networking

Thursday, May 18th, 2006

On another group I am on we have been having lots of heating discussions about quality versus quantify in online networking. Should you add everyone as a connection, friend or link, or should you only add people you have networked with and that you trust?

I prefer to network with people before connecting with them on a network such as Ryze, LinkedIn, etc. By connecting I mean PM or email exchange, learning more about each other and each other’s businesses, etc.

Once we learn more about each other, maybe read each others’ blogs, maybe work on a project together, etc, then I would be much more willing to link up.

My networks consist of people I have met and networked
with. I know who they are, they know who I am. Many of these people have asked me for referrals, because they trust my judgement, and I know I put my own reputation on the line when I make a recommendation. So I will only make a recommendation if I know the person I am recommending.

How do you connect with people in online networks?

Making Recommendations

Wednesday, May 17th, 2006

From the comments on the Passive Income Streams: Affiliate Revenue Post:

marketing Says: Some people have told me that when recommend a product with an affiliate link, it takes something from the recommendation. It’s like you are recommending it to earn money, instead of recommending it to benefit the recommendee. Thoughts?

Biana Babinsky Says: Yes, I have heard this argument. I think if you have used the product, and can recommend it, you can use your affiliate link to do so. After all, you are putting yourself/your business on the line, when you recommend something.

If it still bothers you, you can always offer a regular link to your product, as well as the affiliate link. I have seen this done on a few lists, and it seems to work well. Then it is up to the person asking for the recommendation which link to use.

What do YOU think?
