How to Grow your Mailing List

 

A targeted double-opt in list is a great tool to keep in touch with your customers, fill up your teleclasses and sell your products and services. Here is what you need to do to start building your list:

– Define the target market for the newsletter. Usually it is the same target market as you have for your coaching business. By marketing consistently to your target audience through your mailing list, you will create a group of people interested in what you have to say and products that you have. Don’t try to get everyone on your list – a smaller, targeted list is more responsive than a larger, untargeted one.

– Make the newsletter interesting and useful, so that your subscribers share it with others. This way your subscribers will be looking forward to your newsletter AND will share it with others. I often get emails from people who received my newsletter forwarded by a colleague – this is a great example of viral marketing.

– Promote your newsletter among your target market – put a prominent sign up box on your web site and on your blog. Use a link to your newsletter in your signature. Use pay search engines and joint ventures to get more sign ups – there are many possibilities.
