Libraries Offer Audio Products to Their Members

“A new way to borrow audiobooks from the library involves no CDs, no car trips, no fines and no risk of being shushed.

Rather, public libraries from New York City to Alameda, California, are letting patrons download Tom Clancy techno-thrillers, Arabic tutorials and other titles to which they can listen on their computers or portable music players — all without leaving home.

Librarians say such offerings help libraries stay relevant in the digital age.”

Read the whole article: Libraries offering audiobook downloads.

As you can see, more and more people are interested in getting audio products, and libraries are helping them get them. Do you offer audio products to your clients? Do you clients want audio products? Here are some ideas to create audio products for your business:

– Record all of your teleseminars. All the teleseminars that I offer get recorded, and are available to listen to free of charge for members of MarketingSalad.com.

– Record your in-person events.

– Create audio products from your digital products – ebooks and reports. Than, offer a bundle of the same information in audio and digital formats.

How can Public Relations Bring your More Business?

Imagine getting your name, business name and quotes into a major publication, being called by reporters when they need a comment by someone with your expertise, or being quoted on TV.

All of this is well within your reach, with a thought-out PR campaign. A good campaign will help you write press releases that attract a reporter’s attention, so that the reporter calls you back, instead of just ignoring your press release. A good campaign will help you piggyback onto national stories and be prepared when the reporter calls you.

You can learn how to do all of this and much more this Thursday, August 25th at 2pm Eastern. Join me and Shannon Cherry, a PR expert will teach a teleclass Media Zero to Media Hero. Register for the Teleseminar, and learn the PR techniques and tactics that the professionals use.

This is a very interesting development in publishing and selling published content. How to Develop Teleseminars

Teleseminars are seminars that are taught over the phone. Many coaches and other solo professionals are teaching them, and they are doing it for a reason. Teleseminars are easier to teach than regular seminars – they can be taught right from your office, all you need is a phone.

Seminars attendees also like to attend the seminars because of the convenience factor – they can attend them right from their own office. They also like the seminars, because even though the expert might charge $200+ an hour for one on one sessions, teleseminars are done in groups, and, thus, cost less money per person.

When you start developing your first teleseminar you might be asking yourself – how many classes should I have in a series”, how many people should attend, should the teleclass be interactive. These things are really up to you. It would be helpful to set up the first teleseminar the way it would be the most convenient for you; than, based on your experience, modify the teleseminar for the future.

Lengthwise, I usually don’t like sessions that are longer than 90 minutes. Back in school we could not absord too much information. Same here, you want to give your clients as much information as possible, but you also want to give them an amount that is easy to absord and retain. Once there is an information overload, they won’t remember as much.

We have been discussing how to teach teleclasses at MarketingSalad.com recently. Once you join, you will get immediate access to all of the past discussions, as well as will be able to ask more questions on the topic.

Or, take a look at the How to Conduct and Market Successful Teleseminars report.

How to Grow your Mailing List

A targeted double-opt in list is a great tool to keep in touch with your customers, fill up your teleclasses and sell your products and services. Here is what you need to do to start building your list:

– Define the target market for the newsletter. Usually it is the same target market as you have for your coaching business. By marketing consistently to your target audience through your mailing list, you will create a group of people interested in what you have to say and products that you have. Don’t try to get everyone on your list – a smaller, targeted list is more responsive than a larger, untargeted one.

– Make the newsletter interesting and useful, so that your subscribers share it with others. This way your subscribers will be looking forward to your newsletter AND will share it with others. I often get emails from people who received my newsletter forwarded by a colleague – this is a great example of viral marketing.

– Promote your newsletter among your target market – put a prominent sign up box on your web site and on your blog. Use a link to your newsletter in your signature. Use pay search engines and joint ventures to get more sign ups – there are many possibilities.

Business is Great for Women and Minorities

According to this article, the number of businesses owned by women and minorities increased between 1997 and 2002.

Here is a quote:

“The Survey of Business Owners showed that the total number of businesses in the nation grew to 23 million in 2002 from 1997, with minorities owning about 18 percent of those enterprises.

The surging number of minority- and women-owned ventures helped the nation’s businesses rake in $23 trillion in 2002. ”

How to Organize Online Resources

Every time you visit a useful web site, or find information online that you can use in the future, you want to save it for future reference. However, with so many useful web sites around, and so much information you would like to save for future use, you might have an information overload.

There are many online resources, and there is no way to save and be able to access all of them. What you should do is step back, take a look at your business, and understand what you need to save, why, and how it will be helpful to you at a later date.

Only save things that you KNOW you will need to use at a later date. Save things where you would use them – if you want to save a web site address, create a few folders in your bookmarks for particular web sites(marketing resources, business directories, etc).

If you want to save particular newsletters, create a special folder in your email program for those. What would you like to save about the affiliate programs that you join? Figure it out, and create a system to save them.

Spend a few days to create an organizational system that is right for you and your busness – you will save a lot of time, as you will be able to use and re-use the resources at a later date.

Members of Marketing Salad received lessons on time management and organization. You can get access to those lessons when you join Marketing Salad as well.

How To Create Digital Products

I have recently taught members of Marketing Salad about creating their first digital product. If you are not a member, take a look at 5 Steps to Creating your First Ebook.

Why should you, an online business owner, create digital products? The product that you create will typically be cheaper than the services you provide. When your clients can’t afford your coaching, or would like to get a taste of your expertise first, ask them to purchase your ebook.
